Fifth Letter from Motra Vati! February 23, 2011

On my mission....

A lot has gone by! We celebrated our one month month anniversary this past week and are almost half way done. Its crazy to think how much time has gone by. It seems fast and slow, but good!

I can now speak in full sentences in what we call BROKEN ALBANIAN. Since the sentence structure is so difficult I may not figure out the grammer for awhile, but I am working on it. We spoke Schip (Albanian) for like 5 hours on saturday, I loved it.

We are teaching the first lesson tomorrow night only in Schip and without notes. It is going to be great....? Hopefully, for my sake, and my kerkues (investigators) they will have the gift of listening! I got to have one on one time with the teacher and we were able to work on a lot of the sentence structure, so it is coming. The only rule that is the same in Schip is "There is an exception to every rule". Classy, eh? We have 3 investigators now. Jonny, Roshdi, and on Mondays we get to teach Elder Chad Carr and his companion. It is way fun to teach him and see him every day.

This week has been another rough-ish one for health. They took me off of the medicine, and I was fine for a few days. Then on Monday I started to have such bad stomach pain that I laid in the corner and could not move for about 3 hours. My companions have been so patient. It has also been rough because I got the flu/cold from all of the sick elders in my disctrict (appropriately of course). Since I can't take medicine that will really help I have been relying on prayer! Dont worry though, I am a stallion. I go into the doctors again soon. The GI and so we will see if I can do that medicine again that was like a Christmas Miracle!

Elder Merrat is my personal tutor, and he will say sentences to me and have me write them out. Then he checks them. It is so nice of him! Don't get me wrong, the Motrat is really progressing, and we are learning many MANY things. This is really good practice for life! They are both amazing girls, and I have so much to learn from both of them!

We lost our two roommates this week that are going to Baltimore. They stayed up till almost midnight packing and then woke up at 4:30 to finish. So I didn't sleep very well that night. We get two new sisters today as roommates....we will see!

Out new mission president is pretty funny, and Joe would like him, because he is a OBGYN doctor and is always leaving to go deliver babies...The first counselor- you will never guess. President Hannson (?) Stephanie and Clark's mission president. I asked him last night in our group meeting if knew them and he said, "Oh, very well."

Then he taught us that we might marry one of these elders in our district, or want to marry a boy just like them and the same going for the Elders. He said, "Elders, you better marry a girl like one of these!" Favorite line: "Well, right now you can look BUT DON"T TOUCH!" It was pretty good........That was after Elder Kearon talked (Scorpian Man). He and his wife gave really good talks that helped. We sang him a SPECIAL rendition of Called To Serve (where we pretend to be an army, it is crazy.....)

Max is such a Spruce. He always comes and finds me to say, "Hi," to make sure I am feeling well, and to make sure I am happy. He is such a good example and is doing well. We get to see each other a lot and so I LOVE IT.

Today I ran into Talbot in the Celestial Room, and he talked about having him and max give me a blessing and fasting so that I can get better! You can really see their dads in both Max and Talbot. I am one lucky girl to have them here with me- that's for sure! The temple was fun. We either make it into the 10:20 session of 10:40. It is a nice break.

Anyways, I have really focused on learning about prayer this week and how to make mine more sincere. Something interesting was that we should tell Heavenly Father everything we have done that day and what we had planned on doing the next day. It has helped!

Tueday was nice after the long weekend, and I got many Dear Elders. I was VERY happy after a rough, long weekend. Thank you to all who support me and who pray and care for me. The Lord is very persistent in me going to Albania. So I will go and do it!

I know everything will be fine because I am doing the Lord's work. It will all work out, I am just learning to be patient through healing and learning. It is a good experience for all these boys to practice the Priesthood though! Thank you for everything, and please Dear Elder me! I will try and write you back, PDAYS are short though. :)
I LOVE YOU ALL!!!
